I am Mika Tanimoto. Standing behind the counter of Bar Little Happiness today, it might be hard to believe that I once had a constitution that allowed me to drink almost no alcohol. My life changed 180 degrees in 2006, sparked by a fateful encounter with a single bottle of whisky.
The profound impact I felt then was far beyond what one could call a mere “coincidence.” This personal transformation gave birth to the very heart of our bar: the philosophy of “Hitsuzen” (Inevitability).
“Encountering your ultimate glass, or choosing to open the door to this bar tonight, is never a coincidence. It is a destiny already written—an inevitability”.
We welcome every guest with this conviction. It is also why I personally travel to distilleries across Scotland, the Caribbean, and Japan. I go to breathe in the passion of the producers—the “invisible spice”—so that I may share it with you. When you connect with the heart of the maker, the liquid in your glass is no longer just a drink; it becomes a profound story.
